Benchmark Scaffolding was engaged by Mace Interiors to support the refurbishment of Dyson’s new head office, a complex project requiring both internal and external access solutions. This was our first collaboration with Mace Interiors, and it provided an opportunity to showcase our expertise in delivering intricate scaffolding solutions within challenging environments.
The project involved repainting the building’s traditional red brick exterior to black, alongside high-spec internal refurbishments. A comprehensive atrium access scaffold was required to facilitate the installation of new steel bridges, replacing cladding and windows. A protection deck was also installed at the top level, allowing for essential leak repairs while supporting lifting beams and dropped hangers for beam installation.
Externally, maintaining public access to the adjacent footpath along the River Avon posed a significant challenge. Benchmark Scaffolding worked closely with structural engineers to determine the most effective tie methods for the external frame, implementing a range of solutions to ensure structural stability while minimising disruption.
Through collaboration with Mace Interiors and third-party engineers, Benchmark Scaffolding successfully delivered a safe, efficient, and cost-effective access solution. This project laid the foundation for a strong working relationship, reinforcing our reputation for engineering excellence and problem-solving in complex environments.
